PART-TIME NURSE AIDE INSTRUCTOR/CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR

This position will provide hands-on training to nurse aide students.  Coordinate clinical instructors and site schedules, arrange for testing of students and provide on-site assistance.  Arrange for equipment and materials for instruction, clinical experiences and certification testing.  Work within Midland College budgetary guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Instruct Nurse Aide students
• Utilize a variety of effective and professional teaching techniques and methods which assist the students in attaining the performance objectives of the courses
• Oversee clinical experience of students
• Responsible for students at community training sites 
• Perform other related duties as requested by the Director

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse
• Be eligible for or possess a current license to practice as a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse in the State of Texas
• One to five years experience in a Long Term Care facility
• Experience using WordPerfect and/or Microsoft Word
• Able to use general office equipment as well as equipment related to nursing care
• Experience in teaching adult students
• Strong organizational skills
• Self motivated independent worker
• Knowledge of long term care facility regulations on patient care
• Evidence of ability to communicate effectively, with a diverse population, both orally and in writing
• Possess a valid Texas driver’s license

Preferred:

• Associate Degree

SALARY

$20 to $30 per hour. Commensurate with education and experience.
