WELDING TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and teach courses offered in the Welding Technology Program in both the college and high school program
• Prepare and communicate clear education objectives while presenting current and accurate course content to the students
• Work with representatives of local industry to further the program and enhance the instructional resources
• Facilitate and coordinate support services for students and industry regarding school-to work and cooperative learning activities
• Attend advisory committee meetings
• Participate in recruiting and advising activities
• Work may require split day and evening work schedule
• Other duties as assigned by Midland College Administration

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Associate degree in Welding or equivalent
• Three to five years work experience in welding
• Strong leadership abilities, organizational skills, presentation skills, computer skills, management skills
• Must show English proficiency both written and oral

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related area
• Community college and/or high school teaching experience
• Established relationship with the local welding community with seven to ten years related work experience and AWS certifications

SALARY

Salary commensurate with education and experience. Excellent fringe benefits. This is a 10 month position starting August 1, 2008.
