Below is a list of Midland College Foundation scholarships offered. Click a link in the list to the right of the table to find the scholarship(s) that pertains to your area of interest. To apply for any of the scholarships, fill out Midland College's General Academic Scholarship Application.

Frances Brown Endowed Scholarship    No other financial aid.   
Bryant Scholarship     Tuition, fees and books. 3.0 GPA, enrolled in 6 hours. Minimum award-$100, Maximum award-$400.   
Career Advancement Scholarship    

The Permian Basin Business & Professional Women's organization gives out four $250 scholarships a year, two in the fall and two in the spring. The criteria are as follows:

To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, you must:
• Be a female
• Be at least 21 years of age by Oct. 1, 2007
• Be a U.S. citizen or a naturalized citizen
• Demonstrate critical financial need
• Be officially accepted into an accredited degree or certificate program at an
accredited U.S. college or university, including those in American Samoa, Puerto
Rico, and the Virgin Islands
• Plan to graduate or receive certification between December 1, 2007, and
August 31, 2010
• Demonstrate clear career plans
• Not be earning a doctoral-level or terminal degree, such as a PhD, MD, DDS, DVM,
JD, etc.
• ATTEND Permian Basin BUSINESS & PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S
annual banquet held at 6:00 PM, October 16, 2007 at Midland College for

Bill Pace Cogdell Scholarship     Cogdell Learning Center students    
Collegiate Scholarship     To be used for tuition, fees, books, and supplies. $1,400 per year to be divided equally between the fall and spring semesters.   
Susan Cooper Memorial Scholarship Fund    Single mothers. Books only.   
Davidson Family Charitable Foundation & C. J. “Red” Davidson Scholarship    Not specified.   
Henri de Compiegne, Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship    Student must NOT be eligible for federal assistance or any other scholarship. $1,000 awarded to student per semester.   
Dragisic Memorial Scholarship    Good academic student.   
Clara Eastham Scholarship    Tuition, fees, and books for both full and part time students. Enrolled in at least 6 hours   
Marie Hall Scholarship    

Administered by PBAF.
Tuition, fees and books. Applications available in Financial Aid office and must be sent to the Permian Basin Area Foundation.

Angelique Webb Harrill Scholarship    Tuition, fees, and books. Divorced, female, 25 years or older, single parent with at least one child, financial need, may receive a total of 64 semester hours.   
Sam Harrill Scholarship    Tuition, fees, and books. Single parent with at least one child, financial need, may receive a total of 64 semester hours. 3.0 GPA, enrolled in 12 hours complete at least 9 hours.   
Mike and Cindy Harrison Scholarship    For members of St. Ann’s Catholic Church only.   
Marie Hinkle Scholarship    One $200 scholarship will be awarded via the voucher system for books in the fall and one in the spring. Female, single parent, 25 years old or older students who has returned to college. Enrolled 3/4 to full-time and 2.5 GPA pr higher.   
“I Can Do It" Scholarship    Tuition, fees, and books. Payments made through the voucher system. Students must be recipients of services from Safe Place and recommended by the Safe Place staff. Students may enroll in college credit or vocational non-credit.    
The Marian and Jan K. Jones Scholarship    Must be a U.S. Citizen, have a 2.5 GPA, no athletes, must take a minimum of 6 semester hours (no CEUSs). Maximum award $1,200 per semester ($700 for tuition and fees - $500 for books). Student may continue in scholarship if they keep a 2.5 GPA and re-enroll in 6 or more hours until they accomplish an Associate Degree, no other aid may be received for tuition, fees & books. Priority will be given to students who do not have other financial aid.   
Robbie Leibrecht, Jr. Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Memorial Scholarship    SIFE Students   
C.R. Mallison Scholarship    Must be nominated by high school counselors: $200 is awarded for the first semester if taking at least 9 credit hours. $200 is also awarded the second semester, with at least a 2.75 GPA from first semester. This scholarship is referred to as the High School Counselors Recommendation Scholarship.   
Midland Northside Lions Club Scholarship    Students may receive this scholarship for one semester only.   
Mills Family Endowed Scholarship    Tuition, fees and books.   
Barbara O’Shaughnessy Scholarship    Tuition, fees and books.   
I.A. O’Shaughnessy Foundation, Inc.    Tuition, fees and books.   
Permian Honor Scholarship    Tuition, fees and books.   
Max Perry Optimist Club Scholarship    Based on financial need, graduate of MC, resident of Midland County, maintain a 2.0 GPA, and full-time student. One scholarship will be awarded to a MC graduate who is seeking a bachelor’s degree and another scholarship will be given to a MC student.   
Beverly & Joe Pevehouse Endowed Scholarship    Tuition, fees and books. Student must NOT be eligible for federal grants or receive no other scholarship. $1,000 per semester.   
Hahl Proctor Charitable Trust Scholarship    Not specified.   
Mary & Glenn Richardson    Tuition, fees and books. Available fall 2008.   
Chloice Shofner Scholarship    Not specified.   
Edie and Frank Stahl Scholarship    Based on financial need.   
Lissa & Cy Wagner Foundation Scholarship    Tuition, fees & books, for full-time students. 5 scholarships to be awarded each year. 2 for children of employees of Wagner & Brown with 2.5 GPA, 2 to be awarded to Midland or Lee High graduates with 3.0 GPA or better and 1 to be awarded to student enrolled at MC with a 3.0 GPA or better and in need of financial assistance.   
Yucca Garden Club Scholarship    Based on financial need, based upon previous academic standing of 3.0 GPA.

Abell-Hanger Foundation
and Helen L. Greathouse Charitable Trust    Midland County High School graduates and 20 hours per semester of community service. Essay contest regarding the student’s experience in rendering their required community service will be held per semester. Five essay students will be chosen and additional financial aid will be awarded. Fifty students who have obtained their GED and desire to attend MC will receive scholarships.

Jack A. Dalious Memorial Golf Scholarship     Tuition, fees, books, room and board for golf students holding a high school or college 3.5 GPA. The students must maintain a 3.5 GPA to receive the scholarship in subsequent semesters.

Arts Assembly of Midland Fine Arts and Humanities Scholarship    Enrolled in 2nd semester or better based on need and talent. GPA 2.75 or above. Recipient must participate in Celebration of the Arts as a volunteer, exhibitor or performer. $500 each fall and spring for books and supplies only.   
Geology
Atmos Energy Scholarship    Tuition, fees, and books. At least 2.5 GPA, financial need, part or full-time students.   
Health Sciences
Dr. Gregory Bartha Health Sciences Scholarship    Tuition, fees, and books.   
Lois L. Buxton & Lawrence F. Buxton Health Sciences Scholarship    Tuition and fees.

Midland County Medical Society Scholarship
For tuition, fees, and books through the voucher system.   
Midland Medical Alliance Health Science Scholarship     Health Sciences students. Tuition, fees, books. Full-time (12 hours or above), 3.0 GPA and have financial need.   
The Marshall Verne Ross Foundation, Inc. Scholarship    Associate Degree and Vocational Nursing students who work and do not qualify for federal financial aid.   
History
Geraldine Box, Jack Scannell, & Charles Simmons Scholarship in History
Awarded annually at the end of each spring semester. $250 or more.    
Legacy
Legacy Scholarship    Midland County High School graduates and 20 hours per semester of community service. Math
Patricia Haines Math Scholarship    Math major. Scholarship awarded by the Division Dean or the Math faculty. Student should be enrolled in at least 6 semester hours.   
Midland College Math Department Scholarship    Three $100 awards. A minimum overall GPA of 2.75. A minimum GPA in math of 3.25. Extracurricular Activities. Describe in 100 words or less educational goals. State in 25 words or less why student should be chosen to receive scholarship. At least one letter of recommendation from a math instructor. Application deadline is November.   
Music
John P. and Alva Butler Scholarship    Tuition and fees. First priority: students in musical field who need financial assistance. Second priority: students residing outside of Midland County with outstanding musical ability.   
David Hoy Harrison Endowed Music Scholarship    Tuition and fees for deserving students.    
Potts & Sibley Foundation Scholarship    Music Major    
Isabel & Bryce Rea Music Scholarship
Students must be enrolled Full Time (12 hours minimum) in the Music Field and Study. Scholarships will be awarded based on recommendations of students’ former music teachers & the audition for the MC Music Faculty. Scholarships may be renewed by recommendation of MC Music Faculty based on successful completion of courses with a grade of B or above. 50% of students will have Music Field of Study. 50% of student demonstrating musical talent enrolled in music courses.

American Legion Nursing Auxiliary    Tuition, fees and books. $500 per student

Nursing Scholarship     Tuition, fees and books. Associate Degree Nursing Students who plan to pursue their B.S.N. following graduation from MC.    
Linnie Hall Davidson, RN Nursing Endowed Scholarship    RN or LVN Nursing
Tuition, fees, and books or needs as determined by the appropriate committee for the nursing programs.   
JoAnn and Walter Davis Scholarship    Associate Degree Nursing
$1,000 per semester for tuition, fees, books and supplies.   
Silva Dillard Nursing Scholarship    Tuition and fees. 2 students in the second year of the nursing program who have financial need, and a good academic record.   
Celia Harris Nursing Scholarship    Associate Degree Nursing. Tuition, fees, and/or books.One scholarship per semester for $250.    
Home Hospice Scholarship    Associate Degree Nursing students   
Wallace W. & Kathleen Irwin Nursing Scholarship   

3 book grants per semester to first year Associate Degree Nursing students, Amount: Up to $750

2 tuition and fees scholarships per semester, Amount: Up to $500

3 book grants to Vocational Nursing students with financial need in the Fall of each year. Amount: Up to $750.
4 tuition and fee scholarships awarded to the 4 highest academic performers who are in financial need at the end of the Fall semester to be used during the Spring semester. Amount: Up to $500 per semester.

Midland Medical Alliance Nursing Scholarship    LVN or 2nd year RN Non-traditional mother returning to school. Tuition, fee and books ($500) to be awarded in May of each year for the following fall semester.    
Myers-Land Vocational Nursing (LVN) Scholarship    $100 every summer session for emergencies--can be 2-$50.   
Nurses Unlimited, Inc. Scholarship    A.D.N. & LVN faculty will select recipients    
Sue Stinson Scholarship    Associate Degree or Licensed Vocational Nursing.    
The West Texas Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society Scholarship     Offering a $500 scholarship for a full-time, 2nd year ADN student or a LVN to RN transition student interested in becoming an Oncology nurse. Requires 3.5 GPA or better. An essay and interview are also required. Deadline is October 1, 2007.

Norma M. Joseph M. Wolfe Science Scholarship    2 $500 scholarships will be given each academic year-1-Fall and 1-Spring. Science majors only, financial need but not Pell eligibility is not necessary. GPA 3.0 and enrolled in at least 6 hours.   
Transfer Studies
Eleanor Slunaker & William W. Smith Endowed Scholarship    A minimum of 12 credit hours per term, pursuing a degree in an academic field with the intent of transferring to a university to pursue a career in education; show ability to ultimately succeed in the field of education and provide evidence of satisfactory academic achievement--(recent high school graduates must be in the top 25% of their classes; and non-traditional students, who have been out of high school for a number of years must demonstrate a 3.0 GPA in recent college work.   

John and Charlene Younger Endowed Scholarship

Intended for students planning to transfer to Texas A&M University. 3.0 GPA for recent high school graduates, or in recent college work for non-traditional students. Be registered (or committed to registering) at Midland College or TAMU, pursuing an academic degree with the intent of transferring to TAMU. Demonstrate financial need. Complete community service totaling 25 hours per semester.   

Anonymous Scholarship

3.0 GPA. 12 minimum hours in college for non traditional students. Top 25% of high school class if recent high school graduate. Scholarship may not be awarded to athletes. Applicant's statement re: career goals, perceived aptitude for success, moral character, integrity and strong ties to family and friends.    
Transportation Training
Hayden Jones Memorial Scholarship for Transportation Training     To assist current students with personal needs as a means to continue the Transportation Training program. This will not cover tuition and fees.    
Veterinary Technology
James A. “Buddy” Davidson Endowed Veterinary Technology Scholarship     Tuition, fees, books and supplies.   
James A. “Buddy” Davidson Veterinary Technology Scholarship     Students in the Veterinary Technology program. Vaccine for Rabies.   
Barbara Magruder Veterinary Technology Scholarship    VETH faculty and Financial Aid officer will select students who are enrolled in the VETH program and who are in the greatest financial need each semester.
